For a bulky yarn, the Color Made Easy is a soft and light weight yarn from the Lion Brand. I have so many plans for this yarn and I cannot wait to get started.

While this yarn doesn’t have as many colorways as other yarns that I’ve reviewed, the Color Made Easy yarn from the Lion Brand POP! Don’t you think? Even the colors that are subtle, they POP too!
With these colorways and the softness of this bulky yarn, the possibilities are endless! It really does put a smile on my face! How about you?
Let’s get into it…
Colorway
The Color Made Easy has 22 colors that are on trend. So, more and more patterns will start popping up using these colors. Some of the colors are different shades of one another so you can make your own ombré effect if you so choose.
Yarn weight and length
It weighs 7 ounces (200 grams) and it is approximately 247 yards (226 meters) in length.
It is a bulky weight yarn (#5) and multiplied which means that several strands of yarn are put together to make up one of its strands. The more strands that are put together, the bulkier it is.
Hook Size/Needle Size
If you are knitting, it is recommended to use the U.S. 10.5/6.5mm knitting needles. You would have 13 stitches by 20 rows in a 4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm) when making a swatch for your gauge.
If you are crocheting, it is recommended to use the K/6.5mm crochet hook. You would have 11 single crochet by 13 rows in a 4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm) when making a swatch for your gauge.
Fiber
The Color Made Easy is 100% acrylic. When you hear, or read, acrylic yarn, one may not think that it would be a comfortable yarn to crochet with or wear. Or at least not before the project has been blocked.
But, right out of the gate, this yarn is soft and lightweight. If you want to make clothes or something for kids, this is a great yarn. Especially if you don’t block your projects once you have finished creating them. We’ve all been guilty of that, right?
Care Instructions
If you are not convinced yet on choosing Color Made Easy for your projects, here are another two BIG pluses to choose it. It’s machine washable and you can use the dryer.
I know, I know, I’m being silly but those two pluses are really BIG in my book. There are times when I don’t want to hand wash this or that and have it dry laying flat somewhere in my home. As I said, BIG pluses!
I have some patterns in the works that will be using this yarn. So, stay tuned for that! It’s also the yarn that I am using in my Learn Tunisian Crochet series. Check it out on my site and YouTube channel.
Have you used this yarn before? How would you like for it to be used?
